  1. It was great to hear your experience. I have had the exact same residual Bell's Palsy. I got my
BP when I was 9 months pregnant with my first child in Nov 1990. I was told I would never smile again.
After 24 years, I consulted with Dr. Zenn and Marcus, and had my facial reanimation surgery on 4/21/14. Like you, had some setbacks (an infection - had to go home with IV antibiotics and PICC line) and excessive drainage from my leg. 2 weeks after surgery, I got a huge rash and fever of 103. Dr. Zenn took me off the antibiotic, and so far so good. It will be 3 weeks post surgery on Monday.
Your recovery has given me such hope. My family loves me, but the kids have never seen me really smile. Like you, everyone said it was my best feature. For the past 24 years I have tried to keep a blank expression on my face ... thanks for sharing your story
